The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office recovered a dead body near Stephen R. Gregg Park in Bayonne yesterday afternoon, with the deceased still not identified.

Yesterday at approximately 1:30 p.m., the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office notified the HCPO that a female body was recovered from the Newark Bay near Stephen R. Gregg Park, HCPO spokeswoman Caitlin Mota said in an email.
The woman, who has not yet been positively identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office, though no visible signs of trauma were observed, Mota added.
No additional information was immediately available, but this story will be updated when more details are released.
