Homicide detectives arrested Day, 19, of Newark, at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Broad
Street in Newark yesterday without incident, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said in a statement.

He was processed and then transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility in Kearny.

In addition to the homicide detectives, Suarez credited the Newark Police
Department for assisting with the arrest.

As Hudson County View first reported last night, day was wanted for murder and weapons charges after Jose Malave, 30, of Jersey City, was fatally stabbed on Tuesday evening.

A 17-year-old male juvenile from Jersey City had previously been detained on murder and weapon’s charges in connection to Malave’s death, authorities said.
