“Through this campaign we will be making a concerted effort to raise awareness around our vaccination efforts in Hudson County and make sure residents know how important it is to get themselves and their children vaccinated before the holidays,” Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise said in a statement.

“We have had great success vaccinating Hudson County residents, including administering booster shots, distributing vaccines for children ages 5-11, and achieving a remarkably high youth vaccination rate. We strongly encourage all Hudson County residents to get themselves and their eligible children vaccinated as soon as possible so that they can gather and celebrate safely during the holidays.”

All adults are now eligible to receive their booster shots, and vaccines are also available for children ages 5-11.

Hudson County has already been working closely with schools to reach this newly eligible group and DeGise strongly encourages parents to bring their children ages 5 and over to the Hudson County Vaccine Distribution Center at the USS Juneau Center in Kearny.

“We are so proud of the work that the entire Vaccine Task Force team has done leading up to this point, and grateful to all of the Hudson County residents who have gotten vaccinated,” added Hudson Regional Health Commission Executive Director Carrie Nawrocki.

“It’s thanks to all of this hard work that we will be able to gather with our families for the holidays this year. We are urging everyone to do their part to continue to protect their families and the Hudson County community and make sure that they are vaccinated.”

The Hudson County Vaccine Distribution Center in Kearny continues to offer free vaccines and booster shots to those eligible, including to children ages 5-11, with no appointment necessary.

Their next availability will be between 10 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. on Saturday and their schedule for the coming weeks is listed here.
