“The Culinary Arts Institute (CAI) at Hudson County Community College is one of only two programs in the state accredited by the ACF (American Culinary Federation),” the website wrote about the program.

“This top culinary school takes great pride in offering students individualized instruction and interaction with faculty and staff. Kitchen labs only have 16 students working at a time.”

The website was also impressed that the CAI has “several different kitchen labs which include bakeries, an ice-sculpting studio, fish and butchery room, a 4,000 volume library, and a mock hotel suite,” some of which have been featured on Buddy Valastro’s Cake Boss show.

When evaluating and ranking schools, the website considered hands-on experience, internship/externship opportunities facilities and reputation. Only nationally or ACF accredited schools were considered for the top 50 list.

The International Culinary Center, which has schools in New York and California, came in at No. 1, while the New England Culinary Institute in Montpelier, Vermont just cracked the list at No. 50.

  1. I went to their building for meetings and I was always impressed by the students, they were VERY squared away and focused. You would think they were at a military boot camp! We were sometimes given samples of their work and it was very good. I know I was impressed. Congratulations, I’m sure this was well deserved.
