“Time and time again, Congressman Payne has proven himself a champion for working people and a stalwart ally of the labor movement,” Hudson County Central Labor Council President Barry Kushnir said in a statement.

“He will continue to fight for our right to organize, for better wages, for safer working conditions, and for crucial legislative priorities like the PRO Act. The Hudson County Central Labor Council is proud to support him in his re-election campaign.”

Payne has already received endorsements from the Communication Workers of America NJ, AFSCME NJ, and the Laborers International North America Eastern Region, among others.

Payne also co-wrote the House version of the bipartisan Infrastructure Bill which includes billions of dollars in investments in new high paying jobs, along with crucial improvements to New Jersey’s infrastructure.

“I am incredibly honored to have earned the support of the Hudson County Central Labor Council. The working families of Hudson County are the backbone of our community, and I will always stand with our labor family,” Payne added.

“Together, we will continue to invest in people, to create good paying, union jobs, and to bring the resources and opportunities back to Hudson County, the 10th Congressional District, and the great state of New Jersey.”

Payne will defend his seat against Imani Oakley and Akil Khalfani in the June 7th Democratic primary.
