City of Hoboken officials sent off their Cheer Dynamics All Stars to Virginia Beach yesterday as the two squads will compete in the national championships today.

On Friday around 8:30 a.m, Council President Russo, Assemblywoman Annette Chaparro (D-33), and County Commissioner Anthony Romano (D-5) wished the girls well as they boarded a bus in front of City Hall.
Both teams, Cheer Dynamics All Stars Sparkles and Cheer Dynamics All Stars Black Diamonds, qualified to compete in the national championship, known as “The One” tournament, in Virginia Beach.
“Today is a great day for Hoboken. As the city council president, I’m here representing, Mayor Bhalla and the entire city council, to send off our young ladies to represent our great city,” Russo said in a statement.
“But what’s really amazing for me, I get to accompany the very best of Hoboken on their journey as Lia’s dad.”
They will return to Hoboken on Sunday and hope to be sporting another round of championship gold when they do.
