“A career in the fire service is more than just a job. It’s a chance to challenge yourself, make a real impact, and serve your community when it matters most,” Fire Chief Brian Crimmins said in a statement.
“If you’re looking for purpose, adventure, and the opportunity to be part of a team that is built upon courage and professionalism, I encourage you to take that first step and fill out an application. There’s no better place to start your career than with the finest fire department in the State of New Jersey.”
Candidates who pass the written exam and are placed on Hoboken’s certified eligibility list will also be required to pass a physical fitness test and complete a background investigation, including medical, psychiatric, and drug screenings.
Additionally civil service eligibility requirements are here and recruits hired will attend a New Jersey fire academy to complete their training before beginning on-the-job training as probationary firefighters.
The Hoboken Fire Department is an Equal Opportunity Employer with competitive starting salaries, comprehensive benefits including health insurance, and opportunities for career advancement.
