The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit is seeking the public’s help in locating a 36-year-old man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in Jersey City near their public safety headquarters early Sunday morning.

Raheem Rhett, 36, of Jersey City, is charged with murder, three counts of attempted murder, aggravated assault, two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon (firearm), possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and certain persons not to possess a weapon, Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello said in a statement.
He urges that Rhett should not be approached, instead, anyone with any information regarding his whereabouts is urged to contact the HCPO at 201-915-1345 or to leave an anonymous tip at hcpo.org/tips. All information will be kept confidential.
At approximately 2:30 a.m. Sunday, the Jersey City Police Department was notified of shots fired on Orient Avenue near Martin Luther King Drive, as HCV first reported.
Responding officers located an injured man – later identified as Jenardo Tejada, 38, of Jersey City – with apparent gunshot wound(s). He was transported to the Jersey
City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The cause and manner of death are pending with the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
During the response, a second victim, a 45-year-old man from Jersey City, was located on Jackson Square with an apparent gunshot wound, though his injuries were non-fatal.
