A GoFundMe page has been started for a nanny knocked unconscious in broad daylight in Hoboken’s Church Square Park on Halloween, raising over $10,000 in less than 24 hours.

“B was the victim of random violence in Church Sq park on Halloween day around 12:30pm. A deranged man assaulted her in broad daylight in front of many people and kids,” Joelle Robertson wrote in the GoFundMe page description.
“He apparently was tormenting others in the park and then decided to target B and hit her to the ground. Many good people ran over to help fight him off (if you were one of them, I would love to know!). B was rushed to the nearby Hoboken hospital and is thankfully in recovery now.”
The victim, whose identity was initially posted on GoFundMe but has since been removed , was one of two people assaulted in Church Square Park two days ago by Troy Timberlake, 31, of Hoboken, as HCV first reported.
He was charged with aggravated assault, endangering an injured victim, child cruelty, and refusal to submit fingerprinting, at least the third time he’d been arrested in the Mile Square City since February.
The incident prompted 2nd Ward Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher, a potential mayoral candidate, to call on the city to hire more police, while the city has announced a special public safety meeting at City Hall, 94 Washington St., on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
While the GoFundMe page had a goal of just $5,000, 171 donors had contributed $10,320 as of 3:45 p.m. this afternoon.
“Our officers responded quickly. People ask why this person isn’t in jail, it’s not a policing issue, it’s a bail reform issue. We do our job and people are released the next day. It’s not an issue until the issue is in your backyard,” the Hoboken Police Superior Officers Association (PSOA) wrote on X.
“Start directing questions towards the people who can fix the bail reform laws that are currently in place. This goes beyond local politics. We know we are supported by our municipal government and we appreciate it. Great job by our officers! @News12NJ

Bill Robertson, Joelle’s husband, took umbrage with that response.
“Are you actually applauding yourself while a woman was brutally beaten by a man with multiple aggravated assault charges? After months of public outcry about the increasingly dangerous situation presented in CSP? That ain’t it chief,” he replied.
More police isn’t the answer. Hoboken has a bigger problem and the police are not it.
Defund the anti-police politicians who created this criminal nightmare.
Oh and the people who funded it like Soros and his crew.
