Four men have been charged with an April armed robbery in Maywood, two who were arrested in North Bergen, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced.

On Tuesday, April 23rd, at approximately 11:15 a.m., the Maywood Police Department, along with backup officers from the Paramus and Rochelle Park Police Departments, responded to a jewelry store on West Pleasant Avenue in Maywood, Musella said in a statement.
Responding law enforcement determined that an armed robbery occurred at the business, and the suspects had already fled the scene.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Squad was notified, responded, and initiated a joint investigation with the Maywood Police Department into the incident.
During the initial stages of investigation, law enforcement was informed that two male suspects entered the business and brandished firearms, pointing them at an employee and customer who were inside the store.
One of the suspects grabbed the employee and a brief struggle ensued. Ultimately, the two suspects fled the store, leaving behind duct tape and zip ties.
As the investigation progressed, detectives determined that several additional suspects were involved in the planning and execution of the armed robbery.
As part of the conspiracy, the suspects utilized two moped-style motorcycles, as well as a motor vehicle, to travel to and from the scene of the armed robbery in Maywood.
Following a months-long, nationwide investigation, detectives were able to identify Beiker A. Aguilera Areyan, 19, of East Elmhurst, New York,; Daniel A. Rivas-Alvarado, 25, of New York, New York; Yeison J. Amarante Bolivar, 25, of Miami, Florida, and Jhon C. Requena Verena, 26, of Bronx, New York, as four of the suspects involved in the armed robbery.
On Wednesday, June 19th, Rivas-Alvarado and Aguilera Areyan were located and arrested in North Bergen by detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Squad.
They are both currently detained in the Bergen County Jail as a result of the charges filed in this matter.
Then, on Thursday, September 5th, Amarante Bolivar was located and arrested in Miami by members of the Miami Police Department.
In connection with an existing investigation in Florida involving Amarante Bolivar, law enforcement in Miami was able to recover a watch worth approximately $1 million that was stolen during a robbery in Beverly Hills, California.
Additionally, a stolen rifle and a handgun were also recovered. Amarante Bolivar is currently detained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami, pending extradition to face charges in Bergen County.
Finally, on Friday, October 4th, detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Squad, alongside FBI special agents and officers from the New York City Police Department, located and arrested the fourth suspect, Requena Yerena, in NYC.
He was taken into custody, extradited, and is currently detained in the Bergen County Jail as a result of the charges filed in this matter.
Aguilera Areyan, Amarante Boilvar, and Requena Yerena, were each charged with two counts of armed robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
Meanwhile, Rivas-Alvarado faces the same charges, along with two counts of aggravated assault.

Moreover, he thanked and recognized the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, Beverly Hills (CA) Police Department, Miami (FL) Police Department, New Jersey State Police (Meadowlands Station), as well as the North Bergen, Paramus, and Rochelle Park Police Departments for their assistance with this lengthy investigation.
