“Imani has been in the frontlines as an organizer, championing for marginalized communities and working families by advocating for policy that will help them thrive,” the FutureGen PAC wrote on their Instagram page.

“We are confident that in Congress Imani will fight for workers’ rights, innovative infrastructure that meets today’s climate needs, environmental justice, universal healthcare, and an inclusive economy that leaves no one behind.”

Oakley’s platform includes support for the Green New Deal, such as policies to ensure a just green transition, rapid decarbonization of the economy, and massive federal investment in green unionized jobs for all.

She has criticized Payne for taking money from some of the worst polluters in the fossil fuel industry such as ExxonMobil, Plains All American Pipeline, and Enbridge.

“I am honored to be endorsed by FutureGen PAC. Our movement for change in the 10th district is part and parcel of the global fight for environmental justice. I am so proud that FutureGen PAC stands with our movement for clean air, clean water, and a livable planet,” Oakley said in a statement.

FuturgeGen PAC has previously supported candidates such as U.S. Senator Ed Markey (D-MA),  as well as U.S. Reps. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), Cori Bush (D-MO), and Ann Johnson (D-TX).

In the past wee, Oakley has also shored up endorsements from Marianne Williamson, the Roadmap for Progress, and Building Bridges for America.
