ELEC: Ajmani raises $7.5k for Hoboken mayoral race in Q2, has $165k COH

Hoboken mayoral candidate Dini Ajmani raised $7,537.48 in the second quarter of 2025, spent $43,904.61, and has $165,487.40 cash on hand, her July 15th report filed with the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission (NJ ELEC) shows.

The Washington, D.C.-based Indian American Impact Fund, New Jersey Health Care Facilities Financing Authority member Arthur Kapoor, and CHA Partners partner Joe Kelley donated $1,000 each, according to the report.

Ajmani paid California-based Uplift $13,745.16 for computer and media consulting and Rose Zoe, of New York, was compensated $9,046.51 for political consulting as her campaign manager.

Ajmani has previously said that she will be largely self-financing in this race, putting her money where her mouth is via a $200,000 loan she gave her campaign during the first quarter of this year.

As it stand now, she is the only person not on the city council seeking to succeed Mayor Ravi Bhalla – who the Democratic nominee for state Assembly in the 32nd Legislative District – in the non-partisan November 4th contest.

2nd Ward Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher was the top fundraiser in Q2, 3rd Ward Councilwoman Mike Russo still has the most cash on hand, though Councilwoman-at-Large Emily Jabbour is not far behind.

The field of candidates is rounded out by 4th Ward Councilman Ruben Ramos, who also has six figures cash on hand.

  1. Trying to figure out Ajmani’s lane. She’s not taking votes from Russo and Ramos, so that leaves Tiffany and Emily. Does she take from them equally, or one more than the other?

    Not trying to be funny or negative, this is an honest question. Who is her voter, what’s her constituency?
