Hoboken 4th Ward Councilman Ruben Ramos raised $33,791 for his mayoral run in the second quarter of 2025, with $119,058.32 cash on hand, according to his July 15th report filed with the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission (NJ ELEC).

“We’re thrilled to share that Ruben Ramos’ campaign met its second quarter fundraising goal, raising a total of $33,791. But even more meaningful than the number itself is what’s behind it:

👉 Two-thirds of those contributions came from first-time donors
👉 The average new donor gift was $290
👉 The majority of donations were small-dollar contributions,” his campaign said in an email blast today.

Tier One Investments managing member Todd Leong got involved at $4,750, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) 164 Cope Fund gave $4,500, and Bijou Development Partner and CFO Dave Gaber contributed $4,000, the report shows.

Remington, Vernick & Arango Engineers, Inc. contributed $4,000, and Toresco Holdings managing member John Amorosa donated $3,600, as did JLL Senior Vice President Nicholas Dinallo.

Additionally, former Board of Education Trustee Hector Irizarry gave $1,800 and Jersey City Ward D Councilman Yousef Saleh wrote a check for $500.

Ramos kept his burn rate low, with Hudson River Strategies paid $3,980.65 for fundraising consulting, Vision Media Marketing received $2,160 for political consulting, and Rally Point Strategies was compensated $1,000 for political consulting.

The Mile Square City will elect a new mayor in the non-partisan November 4th contest, with incumbent Ravi Bhalla now the Democratic nominee for state Assembly in the 32nd Legislative District.

Three of Ramos’ colleagues are in the race: 2nd Ward Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher, 3rd Ward Councilman Mike Russo, and Councilwoman-at-Large Emily Jabbour. Joining them is former U.S. Treasury official Dini Ajmani.

  1. No one can touch Michael Russo with his big developer money. Maybe Little Emily can nip at his heels selling out Hoboken. Wait, on second thought, stop doing that Emily. Ewww.

  2. Ramos has never been a viable mayoral candidate this time around.
He is running to make sure there will be a run off.
Many expect him to drop out after the first round and then back Russo and consolidate their mutual HHA vote they share.
Some believe he already has a deal in hand.

  3. Just like Tiffany has never been a viable candidate, she will be lucky if she gets as many votes as Giattino did and she finished in last.

And Russo’s bankruptcy and medic al fraud disqualify him as viable. I guess based on your logic, Dini and Emily are the only viable options? Though Emily is in bed with the corrupt HCDO and Brian Stack.
