Yesterday at approximately 8:26 p.m. the Secaucus Police Anti-Crime Unit was patrolling the area near Red Roof Inn, 15 Meadowlands Parkway, where they observed a suspected drug transaction take place, according to Police Chief Dennis Miller.

To confirm their suspicions, the officer performed a traffic stop of Dylan Matus, 24, of Maywood. Ultimately, he turned over 10, 15 mg pills of suspected Oxycodone and was placed under arrest.

Then, detectives from the Anti-Crime Unit conducted a follow investigation to identify the person who illegally sold Matus the Oxycodone pills.

Shortly thereafter, detectives confirmed that the man who sold the Oxycodone pills was Anthony Cuccia, 26, of Ridgefield, and he was subsequently under arrest. During a search incident to his arrest he was found in possession of suspected cocaine.

Additionally, a Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun and a magazine loaded with some hollow point ammunition was seized. The handgun was found to be stolen from Massachusetts in 2022.

As a result, Matus was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (Oxycodone) and released, pending his appearance in Court.
