“The most important thing is continue doing the great work that they do,” Ferrante said. “Being more alert: we always stress our officers to be on alert at all times, but now seeing what happened, be alert not only to local incidents, but be aware as to what’s happening regionally.”

“We try to share that with them so that they come into communication with someone that is irate towards police officers, for whatever reason that could be … we tell them to treat everybody with respect, be calm, but also, be on their highest alert possible. Be aware of what’s happening around them.”
