Mayor Jimmy Davis hosted a press conference at City Hall to announce that a deal had been made between the Bayonne BOE and teachers union regarding a new contract for Bayonne teachers.
Hudson County View spoke with Bayonne Board of Education President William Lawson and Bayonne Teacher’s Association President Alan D’Angelo about issues surrounding the contract for Bayonne teachers.
First, Lawson spoke about why it took the board four years to reach a contract agreement with teachers.
With reports of contract negotiations falling apart prior to Labor Day weekend, D’Angelo talked about what caused the breakdown and what was finally agreed on.
Finally, both Lawson and D’Angelo spoke of the difference new Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis made in getting the deal done.
