Nyderia L. Shaw, 36, of Bayonne, was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and four counts of contempt, according to Police Capt. Eric Amato.

She was taken into custody at about 5:08 p.m. Saturday from the area of 25th Street and John F. Kennedy Boulevard. Officers responded to the area on a report of a dispute.

Upon arrival, officers observed three women engaged in a verbal altercation before one person, later identified as Shaw, began chasing after one of the others.

At that time, officers were alerted by the third woman that Shaw was in possession of a taser, which was later confirmed by the officers. Officers were able to separate all parties as Shaw retreated into her residence, only to re-emerge in an irate manner.

As the officers conducted the on-scene investigation, it was determined that Shaw had utilized the taser on the victim’s arm at least three times during the altercation.

While being processed, Shaw was found to be wanted on four active arrest warrants issued out of Jersey City and she was processed accordingly.

The victim suffered minor injuries as a result of the use of the taser and refused medical attention, police said.
