A 24-year-old Bayonne man has been sentenced to 22 years in New Jersey State prison for fatally shooting a Jersey City man, 32, last year.

Nysheed Gleaton, 24, of Bayonne, was sentenced by Hudson County Superior Court Judge Vincent J. Militello earlier today after pleading guilty to one count of first-degree aggravated on Wednesday, July 27th. The sentence is subject to the No Early Release Act.

The State was represented at sentencing by Hudson County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Leo Hernandez.

On Sunday, January 23rd, 2022, at approximately 12:28 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department responded to a shooting in the area of 32 Belmont Ave.

Responding officers found a male, later identified as Rasheen Bostick, 32, of Jersey City, with an apparent gunshot wound to his torso.

He was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at approximately 12:55 p.m.
