“Melissa understands Bayonne because she has lived it. She brings experience, integrity, and a deep respect for our neighborhoods. I am proud to have her on our team as we work to put residents first and restore trust in City Hall,” Ashe-Nadrowski said in a statement.

Serving her second term on the BOE, Godesky-Rodriguez also brings decades of leadership experience in operations, customer experience, and workforce development, managing large teams, complex projects, and multimillion-dollar budgets.

She is also born and raised in the Peninsula City and is running on increasing transparency at City Hall, using taxpayer dollars responsibly, and smart development that brings tangible benefits to residents.

“I’m running because I love this city and believe deeply in its people. Bayonne’s future is strongest when residents come first,” added Godesky-Rodriguez.

Ashe-Nadrowski filed to run for mayor in November before formally launching her campaign earlier this month where she unveiled Miriam Salama and Mark Bottino as two of her at-large running mates, both as HCV first reported.

Furthermore, she unveiled Gene Perry as her 1st Ward council candidate on Monday.

Ashe-Nadrowski is facing off with Councilman at-Large Loyad Booker, who has Council President Gary La Pelusa, 1st Ward Councilman Neil Carroll, and former 2nd Ward Councilman Sal Gullace on his ticket.

Additionally, developer Lance Lucarelli filed to run for mayor in October, but has not taken any further official action since.

Meanwhile, 2nd Ward Councilwoman Jackie Weimmer first told HCV that she was not seeking re-election via a letter to the editor.
