The North Bergen Police Department and the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident with serious bodily injury.

The incident occurred just after midnight early this morning in the area of 1415 Tonnelle Avenue on Route 1&9 South. Nearby landmarks are the Wendy’s restaurant and the Seville Motel, the NBPD wrote on their Facebook page.

An adult male pedestrian was crossing Tonnelle Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. The car in question is believed to be a dark colored, possibly black 2005-2007 Toyota Sequoia. The vehicle sustained heavy front end damage and is missing the front Toyota symbol, officials said.

Anyone with any information and/or leads is urged to please contact the North Bergen Police Department (201) 392-2141 or the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office (201) 915-1300 immediately.

  1. I have a better camera on my PHONE! This is why I don’t walk on Toonsdale Avenue, that Toyota’s been haunting the streets for weeks. Happy Halloween I guess…
