Authorities are investigating a fatal stabbing at the Danforth Avenue Hudson-Bergen Light Rail station in Jersey City late last night.

“The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit is investigating the fatal stabbing of an individual at the Danforth Avenue Light Rail Station in Jersey City. More information to follow,” the HCPO tweeted at 1:29 a.m. this morning.

Yesterday at approximately 11:37 p.m., members of the Jersey City Police Department were notified of an injured person on the platform of the Danforth Avenue light rail station, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said in a statement.

Responding officers found a man, later identified as Kenneth Brown, of Jersey City, with an apparent stab wound to his upper body.

He was transported by Emergency Medical Services to the Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at approximately 12:34 a.m. this morning.

The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

The HCPO Homicide Unit and the NJ Transit Police Department are actively investigating this case and no arrests have been made at this time.
