At around 11:20 a.m., police responded to Palisade and Washburn Avenues, across the street from Dickinson, due to a call regarding a man carrying a gun in his waistband, said city spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione.
“Upon arrival, JCPD officers were able to locate the actor who proceeded to flee on foot. Police officers quickly apprehended the 18-year-old male and safely recovered a handgun nearby,” she added.
Wallace-Scalcione also said that charges are pending, no injuries were reported, and that the investigation is ongoing. The name of the arrestee was also not immediately released.
According to police radio transmissions, police were pursuing the man with a gun and three men in ski masks on Palisade Avenue.
Furthermore, about 20 minutes after the arrest, police found three Dickinson students robbed and beaten at the Hudson Gardens, though it was not clear if they were assaulted by the masked men and/or the gunman.
