The West New York Policemen’s Benevolent Association and Police Superiors Association raised $10,000 for the American Cancer Society, presenting them with a check in front of Town Hall this week.

West New York Policemen’s Benevolent Association Local 361 President Leonel Abreu said they’ve been doing an annual fundraiser for the American Cancer Society since 2013, the first of several charitable endeavors they participate in during the holiday season.

Last week, they provided 200 meals at Our Lady of Libra Church, an event that was done in conjunction with the New Jersey State PBA and Soup Kitchen 411. They also plan on sponsoring an event to bring Santa Claus to town on December 23rd.

“I know these times are tough during the holidays: to all of those who saw us out on Bergenline or Boulevard East and the waterfront, I want to say thank you from our local to you for supporting us and supporting these great events,” Abreu stated.
