Raymond Petway, 33, of Jersey City, was charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance (heroin), possession of CDS within 1,000 feet of school property and possession of CDS within 500 feet of public property, Suarez said in a statement.

Following a three-week investigation, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Narcotics Task Force and officers of the Jersey City Police Department executed a search warrant at 183 Wegman Parkway in Jersey City and arrested Petway on March 17, police said.

A search of his residence led to the recovery of approximately 575 bags of heroin. The task force also seized approximately $2,800 in cash executed on a search warrant on Petway’s vehicle, officials said.

Additionally, Suarez credited the Hudson County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit for assisting with the
search and arrest.
