Various statewide and West New York officials gathered at 5800 Jefferson St. Friday morning to inform seniors that Project Medicine Drop – a statewide initiative to curb prescription drug addiction – is being held in the town tomorrow.

Police Director Robert Antolos, Mayor Felix Roque, Special Agent of the NJ Division of the DEA – Carl Katowski, Assemblywoman Angelica Jimenez (D-32) and NJ Division of Consumer Affairs Acting Director Steve Lee were just a few officials who spoke their minds on the subject.

Elaine Pozycki, the chairwoman of Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey, told a heartbreaking story about how her 32-year-old son Steven succumbed to drug addiction.

Additionally, Hudson County View spoke to Roque, also a doctor who specializes in pain management, after the event concluded.

A Project Medicine Drop box will be available at the West New York Police Headquarters, located on the left side of town hall at 428 60th St., tommorow.
