Police: Man charged with DWI in Hoboken after being too drunk to stand

A Cliffside Park man was charged with driving while intoxicated after he was too drunk to stand up under his own power, also refusing to take a breathalyzer test, police said. Hoboken police

Luis Osario, 37, Cliffiside Park, was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI in school zone, reckless driving, refusal to submit to breathalyzer and failure to obey traffic control device, according to police Det. Sgt. Edgardo Cruz.

Around 2:42 a.m. this morning, police observed Osario driving a 2003 Audi erratically, disobeying a traffic signal, officials said.

Officer said they could smell the odor of alcohol emanating from the inside of the vehicle and after the driver exited the car, he could not stand up on his own, holding onto the Audi, authorities said.

Police then placed Osario under arrest and he refused to submit to a breathalyzer test at police headquarters.
