Steven Salmon, 37, North Brunswick Township, was charged with theft of service earlier this week, according to Port Authority police spokesman Joe Pentangelo.

At around 3:30 am Wednesday, Port Authority police saw the suspect driving a 2014 Honda CRV on 12th Street in Jersey City at the Holland Tunnel toll plaza, authorities said.

The Honda was recognized by officials as a regular toll violator and they witness Salmon drive through a marked EZPass only lane without paying a toll.

Port Authority police pulled the suspect over and he could not produce an EZPass and was therefore arrested and his car was impounded, authorities said.

EZPass records show that by the end of June 2017, the suspect was responsible for 756 violations totaling $48,578 in tolls and fees, police said.
