“The Cause and Manner of Death are still pending with the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office, however, at this point in the investigation, it does not appear that the male died as a result of foul play,” the HCPO wrote on X this afternoon.

The incident closed Maxwell Place Park for about four-and-a-half hour Thursday morning into Thursday afternoon and few other details have been released at this time.

In response, Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla commended the HCPO for their work on this case.

“I greatly appreciate the diligent work of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, which has confirmed that there was no foul play from last week’s event at Maxwell Park. My thoughts and prayers remain with the family of the deceased individual, and it is my hope they receive the closure and support they need,” he wrote.

No other information was immediately available.

  1. Hudson County is a special place. Special investigations, special DUI treatment for certain pols leaving the scene of an accident and anonymous dead people never named after being found deceased in a public park.

The Prosecutor’s Office hasn’t so much as yielded a name of the deceased after more than a week! It’s like a Third World country here and public officials are praising them for it!
