At 3:01 p.m. this afternoon, firefighters were dispatched to 93 East 22nd Street on a report of a fire. Arriving units found a fully involved vehicle parked adjacent to the structure, with fire extending into the building, Weaver said in a statement.

Firefighters used several hand lines to extinguish the blaze. Due to the quick response and actions of fire department personnel, they were able to limit the amount of fire damage inside the two apartments that make up this building.

The fire was declared under control at 3:24 p.m. and all occupants of the building were safely evacuated and no injuries were reported.

Additionally, the Bayonne Building Department responded and allowed all occupants to return home. Furthermore, a fire investigation is currently underway, according to Weaver.
