“WNYPA is excited to bring these necessary upgrades to our municipal parking lots. These improvements are designed to bring both immediate and long-term benefits to motorists and business owners alike,” WNYPA Executive Director Amiris Perez said in a statement.

The Surface Parking Lot Improvement Project specifically aims to conduct spot pavement reconstruction, improving drainage, replacing damaged guardrails, repairing catch basins, improving lot signals, and restriping lots to accommodate more parking spaces where permitted.

The WNYPA has named the lots that will receive improvements as follows:

67th Street parking lot

66th Street parking lot

62nd Street parking lot

59th Street parking lot

58th Street parking lot

54th Street parking lot

55th Street parking lot

The authority also notes that each lot will be closed for four to five days each for construction work and that lots closest to schools will receive preferential treatment.
