West New York approves $75.6 million budget at special meeting

2

The town of West New York unanimously approved a $75,656,824.96 budget for the 2014-2015 fiscal year at a special meeting yesterday.

Town CFO Margaret Cherone explained that while the budget increased about $2.6 million from last year, West New York will still enjoy a zero percent tax increase, also explaining that items led to a budget increase.

Commissioner Count Wiley, one of the confirmed opponents for Mayor Felix Roque in May’s election, wasn’t shy in expressing his opinion about the figures in the budget.
