“Last night the Union City Police Department lost one of our officers. Police Officer Ricardo Fernandez was a Police Officer for 24 years. He was a kind, gentle and classy man,” the Facebook post says.
“He treated everyone the same way, with kindness, empathy and respect. He was dedicated to his family, his friends, his brother and sister officers and to the people that he served. He came to work yesterday and no one knew that it would be his final day with us.”
“But yesterday was like every other day with Ricky. He was doing what he loved, riding his motorcycle serving the people of Union City. His passing is a great loss to his family, our department and everyone that had the pleasure of coming in contact with him.”
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, especially Lillian, his wife and his two children, Marc Anthony and Isabella.”
“Union City Police Officer Ricardo Fernandez #267 may you rest in eternal peace…We’ve got the watch from here[.]”
Wonder if they would have ran a story about a garbageman passing away. Of course not.
Honestly, you’re rude. Regardless of what the media may or may not be covering this man has a family and your comments are unnecessary.
