At approximately 2:40 p.m. on Saturday, September 4th, Stevens police issued a shelter in place notification as they began investigating a report of an armed robbery, as HCV first reported.

According to a message from the Stevens emergency alert system, two suspects, one man and one woman, held up a cab driver near Stevens and forced him into the Pond Lot in the northern part of campus.

Both suspects were spotted leaving campus via the 9th Street exit. The Stevens and Hoboken Police Departments responded to the incident and are continuing a joint investigation.

At 4:22 p.m. on Saturday, the shelter in place was lifted and all campus activities resumed, police said.

The suspects, who were seen on security camera photos, are described as a Black man between five feet 10 inches and six feet tall, a medium build, and was wearing a white t-shirt, black pants, and black sneakers at the time.

Meanwhile, the Black woman is said to be between five feet four inches and five feet six inches tall, with a thin build, and was wearing a blue long sleeved shirt, black pants, and fluorescent sandals when the incident occurred, authorities said.

  1. Wouldn’t it make sense to post the camera photos, in case people reading might know where to find them?

Headline: “They were captured on camera, we have photos!”
    Story: “what photos?”
