The PBAs endorsed the Hudson County Democratic Organization’s picks for the District 31 Assembly race on Friday.

Over the weekend, Hudson County View obtained a copy of an email sent by a PBA member, urging the congregation to get involved in Election Day since District 31 Assembly members have “ALWAYS” supported the NJSPBA in matters that would impact police safety, pensions and healthcare issues.

“The State PBA informed me that they are sending 20 PBA (40 total) members from around the state to assist at the campaign headquarters of Nicholas Chiaravalloti and Angela McKnight,” an excerpt of the email says.

“[NJSPBA] President [Patrick] Colligan asked Bayonne Local #7 and the Jersey City POBA to each provide 10 volunteers to assist ( working phone banks, driving vans or handing out fliers) on June 2nd. I am looking for volunteers to assist me.”

“They are requesting 5 volunteers from 10am-3pm [sic] and 5 volunteers from 3pm-8pm [sic]. I am working afternoons, so I will be volunteer #1 on the day tour. I hope that we can get at least 9 more volunteers so we don’t embarrass our local. If guys/girls from other parts of the State care enough to come to Bayonne to protect their Pension, so should We [sic].”

Matthew Lindquist, a Bayonne Police Detective that is a delegate of NJSPBA Local No. 7, deferred comment to the state police headquarters, who did not return a call or message seeking comment.
