A Jersey City middle schooler was transported to the hospital after being struck by a car shortly after classes were dismissed for the day, sources said.Â

The student, a 6th grader at Academy I Middle School, was hit by a car as students were leaving school shortly after dismissal, sources told HCV.
According to sources, Jersey City police and emergency medical services were called to the scene, as well as the student’s parents. The student was transported in an ambulance to the Jersey City Medical Center for treatment and his mother rode with him.
A city spokeswoman said she did not have any details about the situation at this time, but this story will be updated when more information is available.
