Running unopposed, the Hudson County Democratic Organization had an easy choice in endorsing County Clerk E. Junior Maldonado in the June 7th primary.

“Junior Maldonado is an effective, honest, hardworking public servant who Hudson County residents can count on to deliver the services they need from the county clerk’s office,” HCDO Chair Amy DeGise said in a statement.

“Whether it’s increasing community outreach programs, running an efficient operation or managing changes to our voting systems like vote-by-mail and early in-person voting, Junior Maldonado has always gotten the job done for us and I’m proud to support him.”

Maldonado was first elected in 2017 and will have a Republican challenge in Beth Hamburger this fall, a matchup where he’ll be heavily favored in the deeply Democratic Hudson.

The HCDO has already endorsed Rob Menendez for Congress in the 8th District and Sheriff Frank Schillari, along with U.S. Reps Bill Pascrell (D-9) and Donald Payne, Jr. (D-10).
