Report: West New York man busted for robbing Cliffside Park woman’s car after texting her

A West New York man was busted for robbing a Cliffside Park woman’s car after breaking into her garage, getting foiled after he texted the victim to meet him at the North Bergen Quick Chek, The Daily Voice reported.

Rashon Drone, 36, of West New York took $200 in cash and other items from the woman’s car after breaking into the Palisade Avenue garage, Deputy Police Chief Vincent Capano told the website.

While he texted the woman to meet him at Quick Chek, police were trying to serve him a protection order.

According to public records, Drone had been charged with crimes such as burglary, harassment, simple assault, and aggravated assault on a police officer dating back as far as 2003.

Drone was apprehended by authorities at the North Hudson convenience store where he expected to meet the robbery victim, DV wrote.
