U.S. Rep. Rob Menendez, who came out in support of President Joe Biden’s re-election less than two weeks ago, is now endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris to be the next commander-in-chief with the incumbent bowing out of the race this afternoon.

“President Biden’s leadership and courage paved the way for one of the most productive presidencies in recent history. I am tremendously grateful for his decades of dedication and civil service to our county,” Menendez said in a statement this evening.
“I know that Vice President Harris will continue this legacy and I am proud to support her campaign for President.”
Biden, who had been under fire from within the Democratic party since a disastrous ABC debate with former President Donald Trump (R), now the Republican nominee, on June 27th, wrote in a letter today that he would be withdrawing from the race.
This came after 35 Democratic senators and members of Congress asked him to step aside and the president subsequently endorsed Harris, his running mate in 2020, to succeed him.
While Menendez, who is all but certain to win a second term on November 5th after winning the June 4th primary against Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla and Kyle Jasey, is the sixth member of New Jersey’s congressional delegation to endorse Harris today.
U.S. Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-11), a potential candidate for governor next year who asked Biden to step aside, and U.S. Rep. Andy Kim (D-3), the Democratic nominee for the Senate seat currently held by now convicted felon Bob Menendez, Rob’s father.
Joining them are U.S. Reps. Josh Gottheimer (D-5), another possible Democratic gubernatorial candidate, Frank Pallone (D-6), and Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-12).
Additionally, Newark Council President LaMonica McIver, who won Tuesday’s special primary election for the seat in 10th Congressional District and was then appointed on Thursday but is yet to be sworn in, has gotten on board with Harris for president as well.
Gov. Phil Murphy (D), whose circle has expressed interest in being vice president, and Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, who is running for governor, have also come out early for Harris’ presidential run.
Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop, another gubernatorial candidate, backed Biden’s re-election on July 10th, the same day Menendez did, and is yet to weigh in since the president left the race.
Kamala is even worse than Biden. She laughs inappropriately all the time, a nut case. Next up for Democrats? Pretending Kamala has a brain.
First the Dems told us there was nothing wrong with Biden. Then they threatened to destroy him if he didn’t leave the race. Now they’re calling him a “hero.” How can you not be sickened by these people?

Finally, ftr, there is nothing wrong with Biden. He has proven that repeatedly during the last 4 years and he has done an excellent job as president; he saved America from the MAGA morons. He had a bad night at the debate – and I don’t think it was as bad as everyone makes it out to be – b/c he was sick and jetlagged. That can happen to anyone. It was the media and the Dems (yes, sadly, his own party turned against him) who made it out to be worse than it was and harped on it for weeks. What they should have been talking about is the danger posed by the opponents – and they truly are a danger to democracy, even if you and the MAGA’s are too blind to see that.
Yesterday, Biden proved himself to be a true statesman who put party and country ahead of his own self interests. His actions were admirable and were not those of someone who is mentally deficient. Can you just picture the orange monster doing that? Remember, he refused to accept the results of a valid election and incited a riot at the Capitol, which resulted in fatalities to civilians and police officers and where the mob tried to murder the Vice President and the Speaker of the House, all because his monstrous ego could not accept that he lost. That was real. It happened and don’t think it can’t happen again if the monster and his supporters ever get near the White House again.
And all you can do is criticize the Dems. Kamala has had a long and distinguished career in the law and in politics. President Biden made a decision to withdraw from the race for the good of his party and the country. It was a selfless and statesmanlike act. Nobody could have forced him out of the race, as he was the winner of the primaries and the presumptive nominee. His decision to withdraw was his own.
Contrast that with tRump who would not accept the results of a valid election and tried to overthrow the government and remain in power after he was voted out. And when his own Vice President refused to go along with him and did the right thing by certifying the electoral votes, tRump did nothing to stop the rioters who tried to kill Pence and Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
