U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-9) has announced a $499,360 U.S. Department of Education grant for the Secaucus Public Schools earmarked to improve learning conditions.

“I am thrilled to announce this important federal grant for our students in Secaucus,” Pascrell, a former teacher, said in a statement.
“Education is the bedrock of our society, and it is our responsibility to ensure that every student has the opportunity to thrive in a learning environment that reflects our modern society. This grant is a testament to our commitment to fostering equitable educational opportunities for students here in Secaucus and throughout New Jersey.”
This grant, provided through the DOE’s Fostering Diverse Schools grants program, seeks to help Secaucus improve learning conditions and enhance students’ educational experience through exposure to increased socioeconomic and cultural diversity in the classroom.
“We are very excited to have been awarded the Fostering Diverse Schools grant from the U.S. Department of Education,” added Secaucus Superintendent of Schools Dr. Erick Alfonso.
“Our District is composed of a truly diverse population and this grant is a critical piece in providing resources for the varying needs of our community. This grant holistically aligns with our District message: ‘Strength built in unity. Unity fostered within diversity. Patriots United.’”
The Fostering Diverse Schools grants program, a key initiative of the DOE, aims to improve school conditions for student learning and help schools meet the diverse needs of students, including academic, social, emotional, and mental health support.
By increasing access to and equity in diverse and inclusive learning environments, the program is dedicated to shaping a more equitable and inclusive future for our nation’s students.
