Prosecutor: West New York jeweler arrested for distribution of child pornography

A West New York jeweler was arrested for the possession and distribution of child pornography “depicting nude or sexually explicit prepubescent children,” Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo announced.

Sezcan Gonturk, 32, of West New York, was charged with one count of distribution of child pornography in an amount greater than 25 files and one count of possession Of child pornography in an amount greater than 100 but less than 1,000 files, Calo said in a statement.

On Thursday February 7th, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit completed a months-long internet child pornography investigation that revealed that Gonturk used the internet to possess more than 100 digital files depicting nude or sexually explicit prepubescent children, as well as to distribute more than 25 files depicting nude or sexually explicit prepubescent children, authorities said.

The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti.

Additionally, Calo thanked the Carlstadt and West New York Police Departments for their assistance, as well as the Lyndhurst and Rochelle Park Police Departments, which participate in the Bergen County Cyber Crimes Task Force.

Gonturk was released by the court following his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack on February 8th, officials said.
