Prosecutor: Weehawken high schooler, 13, sexually assaulted by fellow student, 18

A male 13-year-old student at Weehawken High School was allegedly sexually assaulted by an 18-year-old female student, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.

The 18-year-old, of Weehawken, who is not being identified to protect the identity of the victim, is charged with sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and criminal sexual contact.

She was arrested at her home in Weehawken and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending her first court appearance.

The crimes occurred on various dates at Weehawken High School, where both the defendant and victim are students and are not related, authorities said.

Suarez credited the Special Victims Unit with the investigation and arrest, with assistance from the Weehawken Police Department.
