Melvin Alcantara-Dominguez, 31, and Yasira Reyes-Santana, 32, both of Bayonne, were charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (cocaine) with intent to distribute, possession of CDS with intent to distribute within 500 feet of public property, conspiracy to distribute CDS and money laundering, Suarez said in a statement.

On March 20, following a short investigation, members of the Hudson County
Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force and Homeland Security Investigations arrested the couple for distributing liquid cocaine.

Alcantara-Dominguez and Reyes Santana were arrested after a search of their residence led to the recovery of approximately 1,000 grams of liquid cocaine and more than $65,000 in U.S. currency, authorities said.

The street value of the total quantity of cocaine seized is approximately $70,000, officials said.

Suarez also credited the Bayonne Police Department for assisting with the arrests.
