Police: Woman charged with using fake prescription in attempt to get medication refill in Bayonne

A woman has been charged with using a fake prescription in an attempt to get a medication refilled at the Bayonne Walgreens, police said.

Jinnie Hernandez, 49, of Jersey City, was charged with obtaining a controlled dangerous substance by fraud, as well as warrants charging him with contempt, according to Police Capt. Eric Amato.

Hernandez was taken into custody at 9:06 a.m. yesterday from the Walgreens located at 699 Broadway.

Officers responded to the pharmacy on a report of an individual, later identified as Hernandez, attempting to refill and obtain medication utilizing a fraudulent prescription.

The on-scene investigation led to her arrest. During the arrest process, she was also processed on four outstanding warrants: one out of North Bergen, one out of Jersey City, one out of Union City, and one out of Hudson County Superior Court, authorities said.
