Eric Rourk, 48, Union City, was charged with theft by unlawful taking, criminal mischief and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Port Authority police spokesman Joe Pentangelo.

At about 11:15 p.m. last night, Port Authority police answered a call of a disturbance in the parking lot of the Holland Hotel on 12th Street in Jersey City, authorities said.

There they found a 2008 grey Toyota wagon with a broken window. Witnesses told police that they saw the suspect, who was still at the scene, take a suitcase from that Toyota, officials said.

The witnesses further said they had confronted the suspect who was in possession of the suitcase and he dropped the suitcase. Minutes later, Rourk was arrested, police said.

Port Authority police found him in possession of a metal tent stake, a flashlight, two screwdrivers, and a glass pipe. The suspect had been arrested earlier this month by PAPD for theft from an auto, authorities said.
