The two teenagers, a male Jersey City and a female from Bayonne, were both charged with burglary, theft and motor vehicle theft, according to Police Capt. Janine Foy.

On Tuesday, July 16, around 9:25 a.m., authorities responded to a call from West 24th Street of a burglary and motor vehicle theft, with the victim stating two unknown individuals reached through a window of her home to steal her purse and car keys.

From there, the women’s red Nissan Juke was gone. The next day at approximately 3:19 a.m., the stolen car was observed traveling down Avenue C near 25th Street, with the male juvenile driving and the female juvenile sitting in the passenger seat, officials said.

As a result of their arrests, the male juvenile was remanded to court and the female juvenile was released to a guardian, police said.
