Nizere Mingo, 19, of Willingboro, and a juvenile, 15, of Jersey City, were each charged with robbery and obstructing a governmental function, according to Police Capt. Eric Amato.

They were taken into custody at approximately 10:54 p.m. from the area of 52nd Street on Friday after officers responded to the area of Goldsborough Drive on a report of a robbery.

According to the 24-year-old victim, he arranged for the sale of his PlayStation 5 to Mingo via a social media site. The parties agreed to meet at the 34th Street Light Rail Station to complete the sale and at approximately 7:20 p.m., the meeting occurred.

At the time, the victim, Mingo, and the juvenile began negotiating a price. After a price could not be agreed upon, the victim canceled the potential sale and proceeded to walk back to his vehicle.

As he was walking, he was attacked from behind by Mingo and Juvenile 1 and was subjected to a barrage of punches to the head, face, and body.

During the attack, the victim became disoriented for a brief period of time but, upon recovering, observed Mingo and the teenager fleeing with his PlayStation 5 in their possession.

Officers were alerted that the actors had been observed in the area of 51st Street and Avenue E and a search of that area ensued. While in the area, officers located the two actors who led the officers on a brief foot chase.

Both actors were ultimately apprehended in the area of 52nd Street and the on-scene investigation led to them being positively identified as the actors.

The PlayStation was discovered abandoned in front of a residence on East 51st Street and the victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries to his head, left wrist, and right knee, authorities said.
