On Tuesday, March 2nd at 3:11 p.m., Secaucus police responded to Kohl’s, located at 3 Millcreek Drive, on report of a man who was “walking around the store committing lewd acts,” Miller said in a statement.

The man was “gratifying himself in view of the public were he could be observed by children under the age of 13.” After being approached by a loss prevention officer, the man left the store.

After a follow up investigation by the Secaucus Police Detective Division, the man was identified as Christopher Honnold, 27, of Smithtown, New York. Christopher Honnold surrendered himself to Secaucus police earlier today

He was charged with sexual assault and criminal sexual contact before being remanded to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

“I commend my detective division for their swift work in identifying this man. While his actions are quite disturbing, he will be held accountable for his crimes,” Miller added.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with additional information can contact the Secaucus Police Detective Division at (201) 330-2052 or detectivedivsion@secaucusnjpolice.gov.
