“We take great pride in providing our residents with safe and reliable roads, and this project is an important investment in our community’s infrastructure,” state Senator (D-32)/North Bergen Mayor Nick Sacco said in a statement.
“By utilizing state grant funding for this endeavor we are also minimizing the cost to our residents, and I want to thank the various members of my administration for working hard to secure that funding.”
In addition to being a major industrial/commercial hub and the home to numerous businesses, West Side Avenue is also one of the most heavily traveled roads in North Bergen.
The upcoming project involve milling the existing roadway, repairing any damaged areas, and applying a fresh layer of asphalt.
Throughout the duration of the project, traffic will be diverted and work is expected to be completed by this summer.
