Police: Jersey City man arrested for flashing Bayonne woman who was walking her dogs

A Jersey City man was arrested early yesterday evening for flashing a Bayonne woman who was walking her dogs, police said.

Azeez Powell, 40, of Jersey City, was charged with lewdness, according to Police Capt. Eric Amato.

Powell was taken into custody at approximately 5:40 p.m. on Sunday from the area of 5th Street and Avenue C in connection to an incident that occurred last week.

On October 2nd around 6:35 a.m., a female victim reported that a man, later identified as Powell, approached her from behind while she was walking her dogs in the area of 5th Street and Newman Avenue.

As Powell was walking by her her, he stopped, faced the victim, and allegedly flashed her before fleeing the scene, authorities said.

An investigation conducted by the Bayonne Police Department Detective Bureau led to Powell being positively identified as the actor and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
