Police: Jersey City man arrested for 3 car burglaries in Secaucus

A Jersey City man was arrested for three car burglaries in Secaucus that took place earlier this month, according to Police Chief Dennis Miller.

On May 4th at approximately 5:23 a.m., a Sandpiper Key resident called the Secaucus Police Department and reported that an individual burglarized her parked vehicle and stole some money from within, Miller said in a statement.

During the investigation it was discovered that the burglar, later identified as Kendjy Philippe, 28, of Jersey City, entered two other vehicles and attempted to burglarize a third.

Two of the vehicles were parked on Sandpiper Key and the other was parked on Sandcastle Key, all within the Harmon Cove Townhouse complex.

Detectives from the Secaucus Police Department’s Anti-Crime Unit developed evidence from the crime scenes and identified Philippe as the person who committed these crimes.

On May 16th, detectives from the Anti-Crime Unit arrested Kendjy Philippe at his residence in Jersey City.

He was charged with three counts of burglary, one count of criminal attempt to commit burglary, theft, criminal attempt to commit theft. Philippe was processed before being remanded to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

“Secaucus Police Department detectives will work tirelessly to apprehend criminals who victimize our residents, but our residents need to do their part to eliminate the opportunity for criminals to prey upon them,” added Miller.

“I again remind residents to be vigilant, lock their vehicles, and report any suspicious activity to the Secaucus Police Department.”
